It is very important to take care of your new tattoo. Use the instructions on this page to ensure that your body heals properly.
Depending on the size of the cosmetic tattoo, remove your any bandages in 1 to 6 hours. If the bandage is stuck to the skin, soak with warm water and remove carefully. DO NOT re‐bandage the tattoo.
Wash the tattooed area with an antibacterial soap and warm water, then pat dry. DO NOT re‐bandage the tattoo.
With clean hands, apply a thin layer of tattoo aftercare (AfterInked) 2 to 3 times a day, for 2 weeks. You may also (very gently) wash the tattoo with soap and water up to twice a day.
The tattoo may form a layer of dry skin or lightly scab in a few days. It will flake off by itself within a few days. This is normal.
DO NOT use Vaseline or any petroleum jelly as the initial healing agent.
DO NOT pick or scratch at the tattoo while it is healing.
DO NOT go swimming, take baths, or go into hot tubs for at least 2 weeks.
No Excessive Sunlight‐ When the tattoo is healed, you may use SPF 45 sun block to protect the tattoo & keep it from fading.
Exposure to toxins, bacteria, nursing homes, hospitals, animals and dirt of all kinds may cause infection. Be smart and use common sense. Please do not hesitate to call us with any questions or concerns.
Consult a healthcare professional for:
- Unexpected redness, tenderness, or swelling at the site of the body art procedure.
- Any rash
- Unexpected drainage at or from the site of the body art procedure, or
- A fever within 24 to 72 hours after the body art procedure.
